...AN AREA OF HEAVY SNOW AND GUSTY WINDS WILL MOVE THROUGH THE AREA THIS EVENING... An area of heavy snow has developed along an incoming cold front. This is producing a period low visibility and quick snow accumulation up to around 1 inch as it moves east. Winds are also gusting up to 40 mph with blowing snow at times. Snow will begin accumulating first over the higher elevations on grassy surfaces. However, after the snow begins temperatures will fall down to around the freezing mark and snow accumulation may begin on untreated paved surfaces. If you are traveling this evening be prepared for rapidly changing visibility and road conditions.

WHEN...From 5 AM to 2 PM EDT Saturday. IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong westerly winds will develop late tonight behind a strong cold front pushing through the region. Gusty southerly winds are expected this afternoon into the overnight hours, but advisory criteria is not expected to be met. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
