...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 8 PM EDT MONDAY... WHAT...South winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected tonight. Winds will become southwest Monday and gusts 40 to 50 mph are expected. WHERE...Niagara, Orleans, Monroe, Wayne, Northern Cayuga, Oswego, Northern Erie, Genesee, Wyoming, Livingston, Ontario, Cattaraugus, and Allegany Counties. The strongest wind gusts will be across the higher terrain of western NY including the Finger Lakes region Sunday night. WHEN...From Monday evening through Tuesday evening. IMPACTS...Strong winds can cause hazardous waves which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners should consider altering plans to avoid possible hazardous conditions. Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the vessel for severe wind and waves.
