...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM MDT SATURDAY... WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations 6 to 12 inches, with amounts in excess of a foot over the higher peaks. Winds gusting over 50 mph at times on Saturday WHERE...Big Belt, Bridger and Castle Mountains, Elkhorn and Boulder Mountains, Helena Valley, and Meagher County Valleys. WHEN...Until 6 PM MDT Saturday. IMPACTS...Plan for snowpacked and slippery roads. Snow and blowing snow may significantly reduce visibility at times on Saturday. Tire chains may be required for some vehicles if traveling through mountain passes. ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A cold front will bring gusty west to northwesterly winds and falling temperatures by Saturday afternoon. Any wet pavement surfaces will freeze and become icy. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
