WHAT...For the Winter Weather Advisory, snow. Additional snow accumulations up to two inches. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph. For the Winter Storm Watch, heavy mixed precipitation possible. Total snow and sleet accumulations between 4 and 8 inches and ice accumulations between one tenth and two tenths of an inch possible. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph. WHERE...A portion of Northern Lower Michigan. WHEN...For the Winter Weather Advisory, until 2 AM EDT Saturday. For the Winter Storm Watch, from late Saturday night through Monday evening. ...LOW WATER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT TONIGHT... ...GALE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM EDT SATURDAY... WHAT...During the Low Water Advisory, abnormally low water levels. During the Gale Warning, expect sustained winds up to 34 knots from the west with gusts up to 43 knots. The largest significant waves will be 5 feet with a potential maximum wave height of 7 feet. WHERE...Inner Saginaw Bay SW of Point Au Gres to Bay Port MI. WHEN...The maximum winds are expected around 10 PM EDT Friday with the largest waves expected around 10 PM EDT Friday. IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. Below normal water levels will result in hazardous navigating conditions. ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong southwest to west winds have allowed water levels to fall to around 1 foot below water datum. The critical mark for safe navigation is currently 10 inches below low water datum. The lowest water levels will be found along the western Saginaw Bay basin as wind direction veers to the west, with water levels rapidly rising overnight. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions. Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the vessel for hazardous conditions. Mariners should navigate shallow waters with extreme caution due to below normal water levels.
