...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM EST MONDAY... WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 3 and 6 inches for the lower elevations. For elevations elevations above 1000 feet, snow accumulations of 6 to 8 inches are expected with localized amounts around a foot on the ridge tops of the Catoctin Mountains. Northwest winds gusting around 30 to 45 mph overnight through Monday. WHERE...Portions of central and north central Maryland, northern and northwest Virginia, and panhandle West Virginia. WHEN...Until 10 AM EST Monday. Rain or a rain and snow mix will change to snow between 4 PM and 6 PM late this afternoon and evening. The steadiest snow will be this evening before tapering off overnight into early Monday. IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday morning commute. ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Visibility will be reduced to below one-half mile at times in falling and blowing snow overnight into Monday morning. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
