WHERE...Kankakee River from US-421 south of La Crosse downstream to IN-49 south of Kouts, including the Dunns Bridge gauge. WHEN...From this afternoon until further notice. IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, Structures threatened near IN-49 and the river. Backwater on a drainage canal threatens 1200 South Road east of IN-49. ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 5:00 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 9.8 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this afternoon and continue rising to a crest of 11.2 feet Tuesday morning. - Flood stage is 10.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

For the Kankakee River...including Dunns Bridge...Minor flooding is forecast. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Flood Warning means water levels above flood stage are imminent or may already be occurring. Persons along rivers and streams in the warned area should take immediate precautions to protect life and property. These forecasts are based on observed precipitation as well as forecast precipitation 24 hours into the future. Changes to the rainfall forecast, or any additional rainfall after 24 hours, may cause changes to these river forecasts. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov. The next statement will be issued by this evening.

WHERE...Portions of Illinois, including the following areas, Central Cook, DuPage, Eastern Will, Ford, Grundy, Iroquois, Kankakee, Livingston, Northern Cook, Northern Will, Southern Cook and Southern Will and northwest Indiana, including the following areas, Benton, Jasper, Lake IN, Newton and Porter. WHEN...Until 10 AM CDT /11 AM EDT/ this morning. IMPACTS...Roads and streets may be flooded. Area creeks and streams are already elevated, increasing the risk of flooding due to additional rainfall.
