Description

Rain at times heavy and strong southerly winds are expected, starting on Monday. Locations: much of southern and eastern Nova Scotia. Total rainfall: 30 to 50 mm, with locally higher amounts. Potential wind gusts: 70 km/h except up to 90 km/h over exposed areas. Time span: starting over western Nova Scotia Monday afternoon and over eastern Nova Scotia Monday evening. The rain and wind will end from west to east late Monday and Monday night. Remarks: very mild temperatures will result in rapid melting of the remaining snowpack. In addition, partially frozen ground will have limited ability to absorb the excess water from the rainfall and the snowmelt. Localized flooding may occur in low-lying or poorly drained areas. ### Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
