...SURGES POSSIBLE IN NORTH FACING HARBORS ON MAUI AND BIG ISLAND TODAY... A north swell of 4 to 6 feet from 350 to 10 degrees at a period of around 13 seconds may produce moderate surges in north facing harbors today, particularly Kahului and Hilo. Mariners using these harbors should exercise caution when mooring or launching vessels. This swell will slowly decline into Tuesday. A swell of similar size and period from 10 to 20 degrees is expected late Wednesday night through Friday and may produce similar conditions in north facing harbors.
