WHERE...Along the Touchet River in southeast Washington, including the following counties, Columbia and Walla Walla. WHEN...Until noon PDT Sunday. IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1206 PM PDT, emergency management reported river flooding in the warned area due to heavy rain and snowmelt in the region. Flooding is already occurring. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Dayton, Waitsburg, Prescott and Huntsville. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:30 PM PDT Saturday the stage was 13.5 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 1:30 PM PDT Saturday was 13.5 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.6 feet late this evening. Minor flooding is ongoing or is imminent. - Area rivers and streams is the most likely place to experience minor flooding.
