Anne Arundel County in central Maryland... Southeastern Howard County in central Maryland... Northwestern Calvert County in southern Maryland... Southern Harford County in northern Maryland... Southeastern Baltimore County in northern Maryland... Prince Georges County in central Maryland... North central Charles County in southern Maryland... Until 945 PM EDT. At 912 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Milford Mill to near Fort Belvoir, moving northeast at 60 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Emergency management. IMPACT...Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches to fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as damage homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by downed trees. Localized power outages are possible. Unsecured light objects may become projectiles. Locations impacted include... Baltimore, Columbia, Waldorf, Bowie, Severn, Annapolis, Clinton, Pikesville, College Park, Crofton, Middle River, Fort Washington, Greenbelt, Elkridge, Riviera Beach, Forestville, Largo, Coral Hills, Bladensburg, and Mayo. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Damaging winds and continuous cloud to ground lightning are occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Until 1045 PM EDT. At 842 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located along a line extending from 30 nm northwest of Middle River to 11 nm northwest of Mason Neck State Park, moving east at 25 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 48 knots and waterspouts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Boaters could easily be thrown overboard by suddenly higher wind and waves capsizing their vessel. Boats could suffer significant damage in high winds. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Locations impacted include... A sudden onset of strong winds are expected behind the cold front this evening. IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. WHERE...Shoreline in Southeast Harford County. WHEN...Until midnight EDT tonight, especially around the time of high tide. IMPACTS...At 4.5 feet, portions of the Havre de Grace Yacht Basin are flooded, along with Hutchins Park. ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Tides two and a half to three feet above normal. The next high tide at Havre de Grace is at 9:00 PM and 9:45 AM. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed.
