WHAT...During the Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, heavy freezing spray at a rate of 2 cm per hour or greater may rapidly accumulate on vessels. During the Small Craft Advisory, expect sustained winds up to 20 knots from the northwest with gusts up to 22 knots. The largest significant waves will be 6 feet with a potential maximum wave height of 8 feet. WHEN...The maximum winds are expected around 11 AM EDT Tuesday with the largest waves expected around 11 AM EDT Tuesday. IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in heavy freezing spray is hazardous. Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic components inoperative. Rapid ice accretion on decks and superstructures may result in a catastrophic loss of stability.
