...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 5 AM SUNDAY TO 2 AM EDT TUESDAY... WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Blizzard conditions possible. Total snow accumulations between 1 and 3 feet possible, except 1 to 2 feet in the Keweenaw. Winds gusts as high as 50 mph expected by late Sunday into Monday, possibly as high as 60 mph in the Keweenaw and by the lakeshore. WHERE...Portions of central Upper and western Upper Michigan. WHEN...From 5 AM Sunday to 2 AM EDT Tuesday. IMPACTS...Whiteout conditions are expected and will make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening. These hazardous conditions will impact the Monday morning and evening commutes. Strong winds could cause tree damage. ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Power outages are possible due to the strong winds. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Prepare for possible power outages. Persons should consider delaying all travel. Motorists should use extreme caution if travel is absolutely necessary.
