AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zones 430, 431, 432, 433, 436, and437. WIND...West winds 30 to 45 mph, with gusts up 70 mph. HUMIDITY...Between 15 and 22 percent. NIGHTTIME RECOVERIES...Between 30 to 45 percent. Some locations near Interstate 25 may be as low as 20 percent early Saturday morning. IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

WHERE...Box Butte County, Cheyenne County, Dawes County, Morrill County, Northern Sioux County, Scotts Bluff County, and Southern Sioux County. WHEN...From late Saturday night through Sunday afternoon. IMPACTS...Mainly to transportation. Strong cross winds will be hazardous to light weight or high profile vehicles, including campers and tractor trailers. ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Areas of blowing dust could lead to reduced visibility. In addition, new wildfire starts will spread very rapidly under dry and windy conditions. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A High Wind Watch means there is the potential for a hazardous high wind event. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 MPH or gusts of 58 MPH or stronger may occur.
