...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 PM MDT SATURDAY... WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 6 and 13 inches. WHERE...Eastern Pondera and Eastern Teton Counties, and Cascade County below 5000ft. WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 6 PM MDT Saturday. IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. ADDITIONAL DETAILS...This will be a mult-day snowfall, with lulls in the snow at times. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions can be obtained by calling 5 1 1 or visiting the MDT Road Report website. WHERE...Portions of central, north central, and southwest Montana. WHEN...Until 6 PM MDT this evening. IMPACTS...Damaging winds may blow down trees and power lines. Power outages are possible. Travel could be very difficult to dangerous, especially for high profile or light weight vehicles. Blowing dust or snow could significantly reduce visibility at times. ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Peak wind speeds are likely between 6 AM and 2 PM Thursday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Those traveling with high profile or light weight vehicles should consider delaying travel or find an alternate route.
