...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON MDT SUNDAY... WHAT...West winds 30 to 50 mph with gusts up to 70 mph. Localized wind gusts up to 85 mph are expected mainly in the wind prone areas along Interstates 25 and 80. A lull in the high winds is expected Friday night into early Saturday morning. WHERE...East Platte County. WHEN...Until noon MDT Sunday. IMPACTS...Mainly to transportation. Strong cross winds will be hazardous to light weight or high profile vehicles, including campers and tractor trailers. ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Areas of blowing dust could lead to reduced visibility. In addition, new wildfire starts will spread very rapidly under dry and windy conditions. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 MPH or gusts of 58 MPH or stronger can lead to property damage.

...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM MDT SATURDAY FOR GUSTY WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 430, 431, 432, 433, 436, AND 437... AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zones 430, 431, 432, 433, 436, and 437. WIND...West winds 30 to 45 mph, with gusts up 70 mph. HUMIDITY...Between 15 and 22 percent. NIGHTTIME RECOVERIES...Between 30 to 45 percent. Some locations near Interstate 25 may be as low as 20 percent early Saturday morning. IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
