WHAT...For the Small Craft Advisory, south winds around 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt. For the Gale Watch, north winds 30 to 40 kt with gusts up to 45 kt and seas 9 to 15 ft possible. WHERE...Portions of Gulf of America. WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, from 7 AM to 10 PM CDT Sunday. For the Gale Watch, from Sunday evening through Monday afternoon. IMPACTS...Strong winds can cause hazardous seas which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Southerly to southwesterly winds will begin to increase early Sunday morning. Winds sharply shift to northerly in the wake of a strong cold front on Sunday evening with increasing wind speeds. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... The National Weather Service in Houston/Galveston has issued a Fire Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from Monday morning through Monday evening. WINDS...North 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 18 percent. IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will be capable of spreading rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. Obey all local burn restrictions and burn bans. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible Red Flag Warnings.
