Winds gusting as high as 55 mph, strongest near Lake Superior. WHERE...Baraga and Marquette Counties. WHEN...Until 2 AM EDT Tuesday. IMPACTS...Whiteout conditions are expected and will make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday evening commute. The strong winds may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Travel should be restricted to emergencies only. If you must travel, have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with your vehicle. Persons should consider delaying all travel. Motorists should use extreme caution if travel is absolutely necessary.
