WHAT...For the Small Craft Advisory, seas 4 to 6 ft expected. For the Gale Warning, north winds 25 to 35 kt with gusts up to 45 kt and seas 9 to 14 ft expected. WHERE...Galveston Bay, Matagorda Bay, and the adjacent Gulf waters. WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, until 10 PM CDT this evening. For the Gale Warning, from 10 PM this evening to 1 PM CDT Monday. IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Very strong north winds are expected behind a cold front tonight into Monday. Could not rule out gusts locally up to 50 knots. We will need to monitor the potential for gale conditions to start as early as 7PM or 8PM in the bays and nearshore waters. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions. Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the vessel for hazardous conditions.
