IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.

...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE WATERS... The areas affected include... Atlantic Waters of Puerto Rico AND USVI from 10 NM to 19.5N... Coastal Waters OF Northwestern Puerto Rico out 10 NM... Coastal Waters of Northern Puerto Rico out 10 NM... Mona Passage Southward to 17N... At 455 PM AST, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorm were located just offshore of Aguadilla and Aguada, moving northwest at 10 knots. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, lightning strikes, and heavy downpours. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this storm passes. Intense lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal objects. Report severe weather to the Coast Guard or nearest law enforcement agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service forecast office.
