IMPACTS...At 23.0 feet, Extensive flooding of agricultural lands begin. ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:00 AM EDT Monday the stage was 23.1 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:00 AM EDT Monday was 23.1 feet. - Forecast...The river will fall below flood stage late Wednesday morning to 17.2 feet early Thursday morning. It will then rise above flood stage early Thursday afternoon to 21.3 feet Saturday morning. White River at Petersburg. Wabash River at Mount Carmel. .Minor to moderate flooding continue on the White River and minor flooding continues on the lower Wabash at Mount Carmel due to heavy rainfall last week. Additional rainfall of one to two inches Tuesday through Wednesday is expected to bring additional rises on the White and lengthen the amount of time in flood for the lower White. Additional flooding is possible on the lower Wabash as well, depending on the exact location of the rainfall. The crest on the White is near Edwardsport Monday morning and expected to reach Hazleton sometime Friday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. IMPACTS...At 17.0 feet, Flood waters block access and begins to surround about 5 to 10 river cabins on south side of the river just southwest of Newberry. ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:30 PM EDT Monday the stage was 16.5 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:30 PM EDT Monday was 19.1 feet. - Forecast...The river will fall below flood stage early Wednesday morning to 9.9 feet Thursday morning. It will then rise above flood stage early Friday afternoon to 14.4 feet early Sunday morning. WHEN...Until Tuesday, March 17. IMPACTS...At 28.0 feet, Beginning April 25, 2011 and continuing through May 8, 2011 three county roads were closed because of East Fork White River flooding in northern Dubois County. Portersville Rd W was closed in two locations...just east of CR 500W and between CR 650W and CR 660W. One other county road was flooded. ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:30 PM EDT Monday the stage was 26.8 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:30 PM EDT Monday was 26.8 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 27.8 feet tomorrow evening. The crest on the East Fork is between Bedford and Williams and is forecast to reach Shoals Tuesday night but take until the weekend to fall back below moderate flood there.
