IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. Below normal water levels will result in hazardous navigating conditions. ADDITIONAL DETAILS...During the Gale Warning, low to medium confidence in a period of storm force gusts between 4 PM and 9 PM today. Highest gusts are expected along the shoreline. A short fused upgrade to a Storm Warning is possible as observations warrant. During the Low Water Advisory, strong west to southwest winds will cause water levels across the western basin to fall 1 to 2 feet below low water datum. The critical mark for safe navigation is currently 6 inches below low water datum. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions.
