It is often said that teamwork is what makes the dream work. This is true in the human world, just like it is also true in the animal world. While there are many solitary species that just go out and do their own thing, many species are highly social, like Asian short-clawed otters, for instance.

In the video below, this otter family shows how social they can be when they work together as a team. In this footage, they are gathering up the hay that makes up their bedding and moving it into their little enclosure space to get ready for colder weather. This just goes to show that teamwork and family transcend any one species.

Well, these precious little Asian short-clawed otters certainly know how to make themselves busy! Honestly, they are like a bunch of little busy worker bees going back and forth and back and forth to gather all that hay to make their beds in their indoor enclosure. If you throw in the right music and a Disney princess, we wouldn’t be surprised if this precious otter family started singing “Whistle While You Work.”

Honestly, the way this Asian short-clawed otter family works together has all the makings of an award-winning children’s picture book on the value of family and teamwork. Not only that, but watching these precious little otters go is simply as adorable as could be!

Viewers on social media were unsurprisingly smitten with this Asian short-clawed otter family and their adorable, persistent work ethic and teamwork. Some people were curious about how the social hierarchy and dynamics worked in this otter family: “Is there a boss who tells them what to put where, or is it more a hivemind thing?”

According to someone from this sanctuary, this otter family really knows how to work as a team, although there does seem to be at least one otter who believes themselves to be the “leader” of the bunch: “It’s all a team effort, although Halloumi is the boss of the whole sanctuary, we think, LOL.”

Other viewers on social media also spotted this “leader,” noting that their role in this otter team seems to differ from the others: “I think the team leader is the one snacking on the snack while everyone else works ‘hard,’ LOL!”

However, some viewers did not see the point in this otter family’s endeavor at all: “Otters on their way to move all the straw from one side of the enclosure to another just to move it back again, LOL.”
