Like people, dogs also love a trip to the beach, and this adorable Golden Retriever knows exactly how he's going to spend his day out.

In an adorable TikTok video, a passerby caught the sweet dog enjoying the waves in Newport Beach, California, on a gorgeous day. In the video, the dog playfully swam in the waves before emerging onto the shore.

In the text overlay, the bystander wrote "me whenever I see a dog enjoying the beach," paired with the audio, "aww, so cute." In the caption, they added, "favorite place to be [with my] favorite animal 🌊 🐶."

People in the comments absolutely loved the cute moment with the pup as well, and many users took the opportunity to share photos of their own pups enjoying their beach trip. One user wrote, "That afternoon nap is gonna hit so hard," after the trip, while another said, "How sweet doggie bodysurfing!"

Others loved how "sweet" and "cute" the pup was while swimming through the waves, and another person added that he's "Living the life they deserve 😌💐💐."

How to keep your dogs safe at the beach

Taking your dog to the beach is one of the best ways to enjoy a warm summer day with your pet, but there are some important tips you'll need to keep in mind to keep them safe.

According to the American Kennel Club, there are certain behaviors pet parents should be able to encourage before a beach trip, like calling their dogs back and other " basic obedience behaviors," especially if you let your dog run unleashed.

It's also necessary to know whether your dog is comfortable around a lot of people, so you can gauge if they would prefer a busy day at the beach or a quiet one.

The organization also says that it's important to keep your dog safe from heatstroke by providing cold water frequently, providing a sun hat to protect from the sun, and pet-safe sunscreen for their nose, mouth, and ears with less fur. Also, be wary of the water conditions at the beach before you let a dog swim out, so they stay safe.
