Rain break for most areas today, but more rain is on the way for the weekend. Less humid and less rain next week.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) -After a rain break for most areas, more rain and thunderstorms are expected this weekend. Less rain and humidity expected next week.

NEXT 24 HOURS

Warm and VERY humid with a spotty shower or storm this afternoon, especially south, but most areas will be dry.

Some sun will break through the clouds at times with temperatures in the upper 80s for the day. With the humidity factored in, it may even feel like over 90 this afternoon.

Tonight, will be partly cloudy and humid, low in the mid-60s.

TODAY’S FORECAST

Afternoon: Warm and humid with a spotty shower in the afternoon. Some sun will break through the clouds at times with temperatures in the mid-80s for the day.

Evening: Mostly cloudy, low in the upper 60s.

FRIDAY’S FORECAST

Morning: Partly cloudy and warm. Low, 66.

Afternoon: Increasing clouds with spotty showers and thunderstorms forming. Rain chance, 50%. The best rain chance will be southwest and the lowest will be northeast. High, in the low 80s.

Evening: Mostly cloudy with areas of rain and a few downpours. Temperatures in the 70s.

WEEKEND FORECAST

Hit and miss rain lingers into Saturday morning, but we should see most of that rain push out in the afternoon. Highs on Saturday will top off around 80.

Other than a stray shower on Sunday, most of the day looks dry with highs in the low 80s again.

NEXT WEEK

Temperatures near 80 Monday and Tuesday under a partly cloudy sky. It will be significantly less humid going into early next week.

Wednesday, under a sunny sky highs will push back into the mid-80s but the humidity will stay in check.
