Record heat will peak Thursday and Friday and so will the threat for severe storms across the Northeast. A few severe storms will still be possible on Wednesday, but the overall severe threat is lower compared to the next two days. Highs will climb into the 90s with heat index values in the triple digits along part of the Interstate 95 corridor, including Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington.
