Tropical Storm Arthur could form soon near Texas Gulf Coast

We’re watching an area of interest near the Texas coast that’s expected to be a major rainfall flood threat for millions from the Houston area eastward into Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida and Georgia in the coming days. The National Hurricane Center believes this disturbance could become Arthur, the first named storm of the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season, and tropical storm watches or warnings might be issued today or tomorrow.
