Paris bakes as heat wave turns deadly

Sometimes, the headlines write themselves.

Case in point: A London Climate Action Week event that was set to discuss strengthening action on extreme heat has been canceled because temperatures in the United Kingdom are too hot due to a multi-day extreme heat wave. The announcement was made on social media website BlueSky on Tuesday.

It didn't take long for the announcement to pick up reposts and quotes, with many addressing the 1,000-pound elephant in the room.

Others pointed out the speed at which London's Shaw Library heats up in the summer months, so with temperatures in the city expected to exceed 95 degrees on Wednesday, it's no surprise that this event was canceled.
