Pavement can cause serious burns in summer heat, with some types reaching 140 degrees when the air is just 95. Science shows how grass heats up, concrete starts sizzling and if asphalt or red brick is the “king” of high temperatures, making the ground a hidden burn hazard for kids, pets and bare feet.
