Not all NFL training camps are created equal when it comes to heat. While some teams battle oppressive humidity across Florida, the Gulf Coast and the Southeast, others face dry and intense heat in the Desert Southwest. Even camps in cooler northern locations are not immune when a heat dome moves in. Wet bulb globe temperature, or WBGT, combines air temperature, humidity, sunlight and wind to measure true heat stress on the body — giving a more complete picture than a standard thermometer reading. Using that measure, all 32 NFL training camps can be grouped into three heat exposure categories heading into August 2026.
