How I got to The Weather Company

Growing up in Atlanta, I was fascinated by the Southeast’s constantly changing weather. From thunderstorms and tropical systems to winter weather events, I was curious about how weather could impact daily life. I spent countless hours watching The Weather Channel and came to trust the brand as the most reliable source for weather information.

What makes joining The Weather Company especially meaningful is a personal, daily connection: I grew up driving past the Atlanta headquarters every single day on my way home. Looking at that building from the highway, I used to imagine what it would be like to work for a company that keeps millions of people safe and informed. At the time, it felt like a distant dream.

While studying Geography at the University of Georgia, I had the opportunity to work with weather graphics and digital weather content through the Weather Dawgs. That experience showed me that my passion was not just forecasting, it was communicating and turning complex science into meaningful information for the public. My passion for weather communication ultimately led me to pursue a master’s degree in Earth and Atmospheric Science at Georgia Tech, where I developed a comprehensive understanding of meteorology, research, and forecasting skills. Joining The Weather Company feels like a full-circle moment.

What I love about working for The Weather Company

I love working for The Weather Company because it combines my passions for meteorology and storytelling. Every day is an opportunity to help people better understand weather, stay safe, and learn something new about our planet.

Favorite core weather memory

The 2014 Atlanta “Snowmaggedon” storm is definitely the most memorable weather event for me. I was completely captivated by how it impacted the community—especially the traffic and seeing the entire city come to a standstill. Watching those impacts unfold across my home state sparked my interest in meteorology and showed me firsthand just how critical communication really is.

Preferred weather areas

Tropics, urban climate impacts, winter weather.
