Halloween weather is forecast to be wet in some parts of the country, but looks either warm or dry for most others as parents get ready to shepherd their kids around their neighborhoods Saturday.

Fortunately, we don't have a major storm in the forecast Saturday. But, there may be weather headaches for some.

Let's go into the trick-or-treat weather forecast region by region.

Northeast nice ⭐

High pressure will be in control, so we're not expecting any rain or snow, temperatures should be very pleasant by end of October standards and winds should be light.

The kids will probably need a warmer costume or maybe a light jacket if trick-or-treating extends after sunset.

South concerns? 🌧️

While there is not a major storm on the weather map, there is a threat of showers and thunderstorms in parts of the South Saturday evening.

For now, the forecast models aren't yet in sync on exactly where these downpours will happen, with potential anywhere from the Tennessee Valley to parts of Oklahoma and Texas.

The map below shows our latest forecast with the best chance of rain in the darker green contour.

We also can't rule out some showers in Florida, mainly in South Florida and near the Atlantic beaches, along with gusty winds.

So, best to at least consider carrying an umbrella or wearing a rain jacket over your costume in these areas Saturday evening.

Midwest warm, but wet? 🌧️

You couldn't ask for more pleasant temperatures for Halloween, with evening 50s or 60s in most areas. Winds won't be much of a headache, either.

But there is a threat of showers, possibly a rumble of thunder, in parts of the Mississippi and Ohio Valleys.

So, you may want to have some umbrellas or rain jackets along for the trick-or-treat walk through the neighborhood, particularly in areas shaded in dark green on the map below.

West wet, again 🌧️

Unfortunately, much of the West may have less than ideal weather Saturday evening.

The details are still unclear in the various computer forecast models, but much of the Southwest, including at least Southern California, could have rain to contend with.

And in parts of the Rockies and Sierra, that could fall as snow.

Again, the areas with the best chance of rain are shown in darker green in the map below. Consider bringing at least umbrellas and rain jackets for trick-or-treating in those areas.

The clouds and precipitation will also hold temperatures a bit cooler than usual for Halloween in most areas.

So, particularly in the Northwest, even if there is not any rain or snow, you may want to choose a warmer Halloween costume for your kids this year.
