How I Got To The Weather Company

I have been covering national and international weather since 1996. My lifelong love of meteorology began with a close encounter from a tornado as a child in Wisconsin. I completed a bachelor's degree in physics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, then a master's degree working with dual-polarization radar and lightning data at Colorado State University.

I spent time in Wichita, Kansas, and Atlanta before moving back to my native southeast Wisconsin. When not geeking out on weather, I enjoy hiking, biking, tennis, running, travel, reading, rock, jazz, classical music and following my favorite Wisconsin-based sports teams. My favorite article each year is the annual strangest weather recap.
