The AROEVE air purifier uses a HEPA filtration system for small particle removal from the air, and is designed to capture smoke, pollen and dander, according to the company. This is ideal if you have pets or live in an area that is prone to fires or smoke pollution.
In that same vein, last year’s Canadian wildfires hit the Northeastern U.S. hard, with residents of New York posting on social media about the extremely thick orange haze. If you suffer from certain respiratory conditions, it was a tough time. A few of my former colleagues in New York were trapped at home for a while and anxiously looking for an air purifier.
This three pound air purifier is ideal for rooms up to 215 square feet, and features 360-degree air inlets. The filter cartridges will last up to 2,000 hours, according to the company, before a red light indicator will turn on when it’s time for a replacement.
In between filter replacements, it says you can vacuum the filters to remove some of the larger debris that it will collect, but it should not be washed. This particular AROEVE air filter does not use activated carbon for a three-layer filtration system, so it may not remove bad smells from the air like some of the other air purifiers on the market.
And finally, if fragrance isn’t an issue for your allergies, you can also use a couple drops of essential oils on the sponge pad in the air purifier, which will release the scent while the air is cycling.

On the Amazon company page, the AROEVE air purifiers currently have over 30,800 global ratings and 4.5-stars out of five. 73% of the reviewers (over 22,700) have given the brand a full 5-star rating, with many appreciating the price, performance and air quality.
One reviewer said, “It really makes the air feel clean, and I can tell the difference without it…It makes my rooms smell amazing and it’s definitely worth the money!” A pet owner mentioned, “I bought this AROEVE air purifier for my laundry room where the cat’s litter box is kept. I am amazed at how well it works to completely remove any odor.”
Another said, “After running for 24 hours, there was a notable difference when you walked into [the] room, so I bought a second for my son’s room. After about a month, we decided to buy a third for the office.” They went on to review the filters, saying “I have changed the filters twice now in five months, and the amount of dust and particles it collects shows me that it’s working.”
As for complaints, some mentioned the essential oil sponge is gimmicky at best and may not really disperse a lot of fragrance and could potentially cause issues down the road. Others said that since there isn’t a traditional timer, the unit will not turn off even when it may be overheating. Others mentioned it doesn’t remove as many odors from the air as they expected.
