Weather-Inspired Halloween Costumes For Every Family Member

For the future Jim Cantore, we love this Meteorologist Costume Set for kids. Pair it with a collared shirt, slacks and blazer, and you’ll have an on-screen ready future talent on your hands. This set comes with a costume necktie, microphone prop, flag station, costume eyeglasses, forecast chart and artificial maple leaves.

Pair it with an inside-out flipped umbrella and starch the tie as if it’s flying away, and you’ll have a kid’s costume that will draw eyes (and laughter) at every doorstep.

2. Adult Sherpa Light-Up Rain Cloud Costume Hat

Quite literally ‘light up the room’ with this Light-Up Rain Cloud Costume – though for those of us that watch way too much Dateline, you may not necessarily want friends and family to say that about you.

Made from polyester sherpa and fiberfill stuffing, this extra fluffy cloud hat is designed to fit a variety of head sizes thanks to the hook and loop fastener in the lining. It also comes with a hidden pocket for the battery pack, and lights up with a string of LED bulbs within the stuffing. The foam raindrops will add a little extra pizzazz every time you bop your head to the beat at your next Halloween party.

3. Spooktacular Creations Inflatable Rainbow Cloud Costume

If the inflatable T-Rex costume isn’t quite your speed, this Inflatable Rainbow Costume caught our eye. Featuring an elastic drawstring around the waist for a custom fit, the costume comes with an inflating tool that will require a portable power bank or (4) AA batteries. There’s a pocket on the inside of the costume for the power box and a fan that plugs into the battery pack.

Reviewers agreed it was comfortable and well worth the price. One reviewer added a little spice to the costume, saying, “My son hung [pictures of] handsome men for rain streams for a Halloween costume and called it ‘It’s Raining Men’.” Other reviewers called it a “cheerful costume” and found the fan fairly quiet even while running continuously.

While typically we don’t appreciate the interruption of our Halloween festivities when it rains, we can’t deny the outpouring of love we have for this adorable Over The Rainbow cat and dog costume. Available in a range of sizes, it’s made with soft removable rainbow stripes and fluffy tulle clouds. And with hook-and-loop fasteners, it’s easy to slip on and off if you’ve got a wrestler on your hands.

This officially licensed Storm costume will electrify your friends and family when you slip on this signature white X-Men uniform and a pair of gold earrings. Reviewers called this a “great quality” costume and very comfortable, though the zipper up the back can be a little tricky. It does not come with the wig or boots, so be sure to snag those separately.

One of my colleagues, Michael Cohen, senior seo and content product manager at weather.com, is an avid comic book fan. When I asked him about Storm, he immediately gushed, “She’s an Omega-level mutant that can control all weather on the planet,” and when we talked about her role in the comics with other characters, he mentioned, “she’s revered by teammates and villains alike.”

One review on HalloweenCostumes.com said it fit well and since it had all of the individual pieces, it made it easy to purchase. Another reviewer on Amazon did note it’s a little tricky to see through the screen and the gloves can be a little tight.

Whether you’re Wednesday Addams with a black lace parasol, or want to create your own unique theme for your own weather-inspired costume, these lace parasols come in a variety of color options to suit every need.

With 4.7 stars and over 1,700 reviews on Amazon, many reviewers find this umbrella a beautiful work of art (especially for photo shoots and weddings). It’s a smaller umbrella, so most ideal for just one person. “Good quality [and] great vintage vibe,” said one happy customer, saying she used it all summer long.

13. BESTKEE LED Light Lightsaber Umbrella

And last on our list, but certainly not least, you can channel your inner-Jedi all season long (with and without the rain) with this Lightsaber Umbrella with built-in LED lighting. It features seven different color options, including two blinking modes. Made from waterproof fabric, it's lightweight and dries quickly, with a manual open/close sliding center.

Note that it requires (3) AAA batteries (not included) for the lighting feature, and comes with a carrying case that allows you to sling it over your shoulder.
