Yosemite National Park, which has been closed since March 20 because of the coronavirus pandemic, has announced it is reopening Thursday, but most visitors will need day-use reservations.

Entry to the park will be limited to 1,700 vehicles each day, according to a news release. That's about half of what the park typically sees in June.

The day use reservations can be used for seven days of entry beginning with the first date indicated on the reservation.

Reservations for June, and 80% of July reservations, go on sale today beginning at 10 a.m. EDT (7 a.m. PDT) at recreation.gov. The cost of the reservation is included in the park entry fee of $35. The remaining 20% of July reservations go on sale on July 1.

Day use reservations for August also go on sale on July 1.

Visitors with a camping or lodging reservation, wilderness or Half Dome permit, vacation rental inside the park and visitors entering via the local public transit system or with a tour from one of the local businesses will not require a day use reservation, park officials said.

Most of the park's attractions will be open to visitors. For more information, click here.
