The Olympic Games have a way of dazzling spectators, whether from the benches or from the couch as people tune in on television. There's something about watching atheletes with pysical abilities far beyond our own that captivates viewers.

The 2018 Winter Games kicked off on Friday, February 9, in PyeongChang, South Korea. On Wednesday, February 14, the U.S. won its 100th Winter Olympic gold medal, a feat that took the country 94 years, Yahoo Sports reported.

As of Wednesday, Team USA has taken seven Olympic medals. So far, gold medalists include Jamie Anderson for women's snowboard slopestyle, Chloe Kim, women's snowboard halfpipe and Shaun White, mens' snowboard halfpipe. And of course there's Red Gerard, already an internet favorite, the 17-year-old snowboarder who reportedly overslept, lost his coat, and still made the gold for mens' slopestyle on Sunday.
