After a day of rain showers, rainbows graced the skies in many locations across the United Kingdom on Thursday. Photos show rainbows and double rainbows over Elizabeth Tower and Buckingham Palace in London, as well as over Windsor Castle in Windsor, England.

It was a bit of beauty on the day that the Royal Family announced Queen Elizabeth II's death at the age of 96 at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. Her death was announced at 6:30 p.m. local time, though crowds gathered outside Buckingham Palace earlier Thursday as news spread of her ailing health.
