Hurricane Fiona brought devastation to parts of the Caribbean this week, and the storm's aftermath is best seen from above. Aerial photos capture the storm's devastation in Puerto Rico, where homes were washed away and the entire population lost electricity.

F​iona brought more than two feet of rainfall to some locations in Puerto Rico, causing floods and landslides that damaged bridges and roads. Homes on Salina's Beach can be seen surrounded by floodwaters in the slideshow above, as well as an area in Arecibo that was photographed underwater on Tuesday.

T​he island still has far to go in terms of cleanup and restoration. PowerOutage.us reported more than 900,000 customers without power on Thursday, days after the storm's passage. With multiple people in most homes, this accounts for millions of people without power, and millions are still without water as well.

President Biden declared a federal disaster for the U.S. territory on Wednesday, paving the way for FEMA to bring aid to the island.

I​n the Dominican Republic, aerial images show scattered debris, damaged homes and downed trees after Fiona brought flooding and heavy winds to the nation. Three of the country's eastern provinces were declared disaster zones, and many were without power there as well.
