Photos out of California's mountainous areas show the conditions after even more snow fell over the weekend. Feet of snow is seen piled on top of homes and in yards and piled high on the side of roads.

A​n additional one to two feet of snow fell in California's high elevations over the weekend, on top of the 12 feet that had already accumulated since late February.

First, Winter Storm Piper dumped several feet of snow on the state, even in low elevations. T​he National Weather Service said it was one of the strongest storms to hit Southern California. B​efore residents could finish digging out, Winter Storm Quest brought several more feet to the already snow-covered mountains. Over the weekend, Winter Storm Sage headed in with more snow for the Sierra Nevada, while lower elevations received up to a foot of rain, causing major flooding in some areas of Central California.

T​he San Bernardino coroner has responded to 13 death reports since the relentless storms began, according to a news release.

Another atmospheric river is headed into California this week, packing more snow for the Sierra and more flood threats for parts of the state.
