Tropical Depression Nine formed on Sept. 7 and then strengthened into Tropical Storm Isaac the next day. Isaac became a Category 1 hurricane on Sept. 9.

As Isaac approached the eastern Caribbean it weakened to a tropical storm, succumbing to unfavorable upper-level winds.

Heavy rain spread through the Lesser Antilles as Isaac pushed through Sept. 13-14.

Isaac eventually lost its battle to hostile upper-level winds and dry air, dissipating early Sept. 15.
