Tropical Storm Erika lashed Puerto Rico Friday with rain and wind after the storm system killed at least 20 people on the small Caribbean island of Dominica Thursday.

Extensive flooding has been reported across Dominica as well, and at least 31 additional individuals remain missing.

On Thursday, 12.64 inches of rain fell in a 12-hour period from 2 a.m. EDT to 2 p.m. at the Canefield Airport near Roseau, Dominica, according to local storm reports. The rainfall caused extensive flooding across the island, as at least 20 additional individuals remain missing.

The storm dissipated Saturday morning as it crossed the island of Cuba; however its remnants are moving toward southern Florida.
