Halloween Storm to Bring Snow to Central Plains, Midwest (PHOTOS)

A winter storm is moving into the Plains and Midwest Wednesday after dumping several inches of snow on the Rockies earlier this week.

More than six inches of snow fell in Denver, causing traffic jams along Interstate 25 and road closures on Interstate 70 in Aurora, Colorado. The storm, which the Weather Channel has named Winter Storm Bessie, was the second storm in two days to strike the Rockies.

The National Weather Service has issued winter storm warnings and winter weather advisories from the central Rockies and parts of the Central and Southern Plains and eastward into a narrow strip of the mid-Mississippi Valley and northern Illinois.

The Central Plains and parts of the Midwest could see a snowy Halloween as the storm moves eastward, bringing light to moderate snowfall.
