Leaving behind a signed or engraved padlocks as a symbol of one’s love is a worldwide practice, often taken part in by visitors to famous landmarks or natural parks. But, U.S. National Parks officials say the practice can have some negative consequences. Curious animals may be impacted and the weight and nature of the locks can also cause some environmental problems.
