Rare Solar Storm Visible This Weekend

“This is an unusual event,” says the NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center, and it sure does seem that way as the agency has issued its first “G4” level geomagnetic watch since 2005. At least five blasts of plasma and magnetic field from the sun’s corona are all heading for Earth, expected to reach the planet sometime between May 10-12.
