Miami’s ‘Wall Of Wind’ Simulates Major Hurricanes

The Wall of Wind at Florida International University in Miami can simulate hurricanes packing winds up to about 160 mph. Scaled models of buildings and components like roofing and doors are tested by winds generated by massive fans and blowing through a specially engineered box. And now, a bigger, better version is in the works.
