Tropics: Watching From Off East Coast To Africa

August 11, 2025

The National Hurricane Center is tracking two areas of interest in the Atlantic. First is an area of low pressure that is expected to form off the Southeast coast of the U.S. this weekend. The chance for tropical development is low, but the mid-Atlantic will see gusty winds and coastal flooding along the beaches with a high risk for rip currents into the weekend. The tropical wave in the central Atlantic is still disorganized but may develop into a tropical depression or tropical storm early next week. Please stay up to date with the latest forecast since a new tropical wave coming off Africa will be one to watch.
