A Photo Tour Through Asia's Largest Tulip Garden

Asia’s largest tulip garden opened to the public last week, and already about 115,000 people have visited the garden since opening day on March 19. With approximately 68 varieties of tulips, it’s clear why The Indira Gandhi Tulip Garden is a popular tourist attraction.

The garden, which is also known as Siraj Bagh, is located between Dal Lake and the Zabarwan Hills in Srinagar, India.

Around 500 gardeners have tended to the 1.5 million bulbs and blossoms to get the garden tourist-ready, according to Indian Express.

The garden has played an important role in bridging the slow time between the busy winter and summer tourism seasons in the Kashmir Valley. The summer tourism season usually begins in the last week of April in Jammu and Kashmir, but the garden has moved the start date earlier.

The garden will remain open throughout April, and other spring flowers, such as hyacinths, daffodils and cyclamens will also be on display.
