Florida is about to see relief from the drought that covers almost the entire state as a rainy pattern is about to set up that will last through next week into the beginning of June (also known as the beginning of hurricane season). Some models are beginning to show a bit of tropical activity from the Pacific to the Southeast Coast, but concern for impacts besides flooding is low. It’s also worth noting that the northern Gulf and portions of the Atlantic near the Southeast and mid-Atlantic are among the regions more likely to produce tropical systems during the month of June, even though they may not be likely or common. Meteorologist Jonathan Belles breaks it down.
