We are watching an area in the Gulf that, regardless of development, will usher in days of rain across the South. Some areas may pick up as much as 5-8 inches of rain with locally higher amounts possible. This onslaught of tropical moisture will bring the risk of flooding to the region as showers and storms continue to linger over the same areas. Places like Houston, New Orleans, Jackson, Montgomery and Atlanta should be on alert. Watch for the latest here.
