On June 21, 2026, in Yining, Xinjiang, China, a severe flash flood and mudflow struck the Ili Alma (Aleima) Scenic Area following intense mountain rainfall. In the video, large volumes of muddy water are seen rushing through the area, having completely washed away sections of roadway and exposed underlying earth and utility pipes. Tourist structures within the park, including a red heart-shaped archway and a blue pedestrian bridge, appear displaced and surrounded by thick mud and flowing debris, showing the force of the floodwaters. According to reports, due to recent extreme weather in Xinjiang, the area has been experiencing heightened flood risk due to unusually intense rainfall and rapid snow and glacier melt in surrounding mountain regions.
